Fresh Iranian attack on Kuwait kills Indian migrant
On March 30, an Indian worker was killed in Kuwait after an Iranian attack damaged an administrative building at a power generation and water distillation plant, per CNN.
According to the news outlet, quoting the Ministry of Energy, technical and emergency teams “immediately began addressing the consequences of the incident.”
Since the start of the conflict, several foreign workers in the region have been killed or injured. South Asian laborers play a crucial role in the region’s economy and contribute significantly to the prosperity of Gulf countries. However, they remain one of the most vulnerable and unprotected groups of the population.
The International Labour Organization estimates that there are over 24 million migrant workers in Arab states.
