Fresh US strikes target Iran as regional tensions rise
The United States military began a new wave of strikes against targets in Iran on Sunday, July 12, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced.
“At 5 p.m. ET today [01:00 Baku time], U.S. Central Command forces began launching more strikes against Iran to continue degrading their ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial ships freely transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The Commander in Chief has directed the strikes to hold Iranian forces accountable,” the command said in a post on X.
