Gang-related shooting in Brussels city center injures several people

Four people were injured in a shooting in the heart of Brussels on the evening of November 6.

As reported by the Belgian VRT News, one of the injured remains in critical condition. Among the four victims is a Swedish woman employed by the Moderate Party in the European Parliament.

The local police at this stage of the investigation rule a terrorism-affiliated motive out, with the mayor of Brussels' Ixelles district stating that he believes the incident to be a drug-related "settling of scores". By the time the police arrived at the scene, the perpetrator had already left.
