Gas leak at Kyrgyz mine kills two, 19 hospitalised VIDEO

A gas release occurred at a mine in the village of Samarkandek in Kyrgyzstan’s Batken region, killing two miners, Sputnik Kyrgyzstan reports.

Rescue teams recovered the bodies from a depth of around 200 meters and handed them over to local authorities. A third miner was rescued and taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Additionally, 18 miners who were affected by the gas sought treatment at the district hospital. Their condition is reported as stable.
