Gas pipeline explosion reported in Ukraine’s Zakarpattia region VIDEO

A section of a main gas pipeline has exploded in Ukraine’s western Zakarpattia region, triggering a large fire, emergency services have said.

According to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service, the incident occurred near the village of Rososh in the Mukachevo district, Caliber.Az reports.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze, and no threat to nearby residential buildings was reported.

Officials said gas supplies to local residents were not disrupted and continued to operate as normal.

The cause of the explosion is not yet known. Law enforcement agencies have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
