Egypt, Qatar and Türkiye, alongside US President Donald Trump, have signed a joint declaration formalising a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, according to DW.
The declaration, announced by the Egyptian side, is intended to reinforce the ceasefire and mark the official end of hostilities in the region. The summit in Sharm El-Sheikh has been described as a landmark diplomatic gathering aimed at bringing lasting peace to the area.
US President Trump hailed the day as historic for both the Middle East and the wider world, noting the unprecedented scale and influence of the participating nations. He emphasised the role of his team and international partners in facilitating the agreement, highlighting the collaborative effort that led to the ceasefire.
