Gaza Strip death toll from Israeli attacks tops 37,000
The number of those killed in Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip since 7 October has reached 37,626.
"The number of victims of Israeli aggression since October 7 has risen to 37,626, 86,098 people were injured," the enclave's Health Ministry, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
According to the ministry, the bodies of 28 people who died due to the actions of the Israeli army were delivered to hospitals in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours.
The conflict between Hamas and Israel that started on October 7, 2023, began with a large-scale surprise attack by Hamas on southern Israel. This attack involved rocket fire, as well as infiltrations by Hamas militants into Israeli border communities, resulting in numerous casualties and widespread destruction. The violence marked a significant escalation in the longstanding Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
