Gazprom sets record for daily gas supplies to China
On October 16, Gazprom set a new all-time record for daily gas deliveries to China via the Power of Siberia pipeline, exceeding its contractual obligations.
According to Gazprom’s statement, on October 16, the company recorded a new historic high for daily gas supplies to China via the Power of Siberia pipeline, with the delivered volume exceeding its contractual commitments, Caliber.Az reports via TASS.
The company noted that this marks the fourth record since gas deliveries through the pipeline reached their maximum contractual level on December 1, 2024.
The Power of Siberia pipeline, operational since late 2019, transports natural gas from eastern Siberia into China under a long-term 30-year contract between Gazprom and CNPC.
As Europe’s demand from Russia declined following the Ukraine war and sanctions, Moscow has increasingly turned eastward — in September 2025, Gazprom and CNPC signed an agreement to boost annual supply via the pipeline from 38 to 44 billion cubic metres and advance plans for the Power of Siberia 2 line.
