German chancellor, Armenian PM discuss peace process with Azerbaijan

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a phone call focusing on the war in Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East and the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process.
German government spokesperson Stefan Kornelius said the two leaders exchanged views on the impact of developments in Ukraine and the Middle East on the South Caucasus, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
He noted that Merz called for further progress in the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process and stressed its importance for regional stability.
According to the spokesperson, both sides also discussed opportunities to expand bilateral relations as well as Armenia's ties with the European Union.
