German city sees opening of Azerbaijani sports club

The Azerbaijani community for Culture and Sports has opened a sports club in the German city of Koblenz.

According to Report, the opening was organized to mark Azerbaijan’s Victory Day which falls on November 8.

The club is open to the public to athletes from Koblenz as well as from neighbouring cities. Azerbaijanis residing all over Germany attended the opening.

The manager of the club will be Eldar Bayramov, who has been working for many years as a wrestling referee in Germany, noted that more athletes will now be able to prepare for professional competitions.

A minute of silence was held during the opening ceremony to honour the martyrs and victims of the Second Karabakh War as well as the sounding of the national anthem. A concert marking Victory Day was held in the course of the opening event.
