German fighter jets practice short-distance landings near Russian border

German Eurofighter jets have been deployed to Finland, where they practiced short-distance landings just 180 kilometres from the Russian border. 

The maneuvers involved three German aircraft from the 71st Squadron of the Richthofen Tactical Air Force of the German Air Force, which took off and landed on a highway near Finland’s Hosio village, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

The Eurofighter jets have been practicing landings in Finland since September 4. During the exercises, they are stationed at the Rovaniemi Air Base, which is just 147 kilometres from the Russian border.
