Germany’s foreign minister has called on Iran to show readiness for negotiations following a recent conversation with his Iranian counterpart, as diplomatic efforts continue to ease regional tensions.
Speaking in Athens on May 4, Johann Wadephul said he had spoken with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and “strongly advised” Tehran to engage in dialogue, Iran International reports.
Wadephul emphasised the importance of pursuing a diplomatic solution, urging Iran to take advantage of ongoing efforts aimed at de-escalating the situation.
