German lawmaker accuses Merz of sacrificing disability aid for Ukraine
Bundestag member Markus Frohnmaier of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party has criticised German Chancellor Friedrich Merz over what he described as a controversial policy approach.
Writing on X, Frohnmaier claimed that Merz was prepared to reduce support for people with disabilities in order to free up funds for assistance to Ukraine. The lawmaker said he believed the chancellor was “completely losing his mind.”

“He is literally proposing cuts to support for people with disabilities. He claims there is still considerable potential for savings there. What does it say about a chancellor that he would rather cut funding for people with disabilities in his own country than reduce billions in spending on Ukraine?” Frohnmaier noted.
