German ruling coalition’s rating falls

19 November 2023 14:52

About 35 per cent of German citizens are ready to vote for the parties in Germany's ruling coalition "Traffic Light" (the Social Democratic Party, the Greens and the Free Democratic Party).

Some 16 per cent of respondents are ready to vote for the Social Democratic Party, and 13 per cent - for the "Greens", Bild reports, citing a survey by the National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA).

In the case of elections, 6 per cent of respondents would vote for the Free Democratic Party. Based on the statistical data, the overall popularity rating of the parties is lower than it was according to the results of the last elections to the Bundestag in 2021.

According to the survey, the most popular political party in Germany remains the opposition bloc of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and the Christian Social Union (CSU), which is supported by 30 per cent of respondents. It is followed by "Alternative for Germany" with 21 per cent of votes.
