German visa processing shifts to modern centre in Baku starting July
Starting from July, German travel visas will no longer be processed and issued by the Visametric centre and will instead be moved to a new visa application centre in Baku.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Heiko Schwarz, Deputy Head of the German diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
In his opening remarks, Schwarz highlighted the significance of the new centre in strengthening bilateral relations between Germany and Azerbaijan.
"The opening of this visa centre is an important step toward deepening cooperation between our countries. It offers expanded opportunities for travel, business exchanges, educational programs, and cultural interaction. We are confident that this centre will help bring the people of Germany and Azerbaijan closer together," the diplomat said.
According to the German embassy, citizens applying for a German Schengen visa will now have to contact the new centre, TLS contact visa application centre, and obtain an appointment date online, which is located inside the Demirchi Business Tower in the capital's Khatai district.
Appointments that have already been scheduled for the remaining month of June will continue to be processed by the previous visa application centre for the German Embassy, Visametric.
