Germany, France, UK urge Israel to open Gaza aid routes
In a unified diplomatic appeal, the foreign ministers of Germany, France, and the United Kingdom have urged Israel to permit the unrestricted flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza, citing international legal obligations.
"Humanitarian aid must never be used as a political tool and Palestinian territory must not be reduced or subjected to any demographic change," the ministers said, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
In a joint statement, the three European nations stressed the urgency of addressing the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip. The foreign ministers also called on all parties involved in the conflict to restore a ceasefire and pressed Hamas to immediately release the remaining hostages it continues to hold.
The call comes amid a complete halt in humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza. Since March 2, Israel has barred the entry of all humanitarian supplies into the enclave, which remains under a strict blockade. Aid organisations and international observers have raised concerns about the severe impact on Gaza’s civilian population.
