Germany issues first public war preparedness guide for civilians

Germany’s Federal Office of Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK) has released a new brochure for the population that, for the first time, includes guidelines for wartime preparedness.

“Germany is one of the safest countries in the world. Nevertheless, we see that even here, crises disrupt our daily routines. Infrastructure and unity are being attacked through disinformation and sabotage. Even war no longer seems as impossible as it did a few years ago,” the foreword to the document reads, Caliber.Az reports via German media.

The brochure advises citizens to seek shelter in rooms with few windows and doors, as well as in garages, museums, or metro stations in the event of explosions.

Germans are also urged to prepare an emergency kit containing food and water for ten days, gas burners, batteries, power banks, a first-aid kit, a radio receiver, and a change of clothes.
