Germany plans largest contribution to NATO military aid package for Ukraine
05 July 2026 17:50
Germany intends to make the largest individual contribution to a proposed NATO military assistance package for Ukraine, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said in an interview with Bild.
“Germany’s share will undoubtedly be the largest individual contribution,” Pistorius stated.
According to the defense minister, the €90 billion European Union loan approved in December 2025 and the planned €70 billion NATO assistance package are aimed at helping the Ukrainian Armed Forces maintain an advantage on the battlefield.
At the same time, Pistorius noted that “there is practically no movement on the battlefield.”
