Former German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock has officially relinquished her Bundestag (Parliament) mandate following her election as President of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Baerbock will formally leave the Parliament on June 30, Caliber.Az reports, citing German media.
On June 16, the Green politician confirmed her decision to end her parliamentary career on July 1.
Baerbock was elected to lead the UN's largest body earlier this month and is to be inaugurated on September 9.
She has been a lawmaker in the German parliament since 2013 and served as foreign minister under former Chancellor Olaf Scholz between 2021 and 2025.
