German FM: Iran must never possess nuclear weapons
Germany’s Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Johann Wadephul has firmly stated that Iran must never be allowed to possess nuclear weapons, highlighting the ongoing security threat Iran poses, particularly to Israel.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar in Berlin, Wadephul underscored, “Israel remains under threat. That is why today we spoke about Iran, which last year launched an unprecedented wave of drones and missiles against Israel. There is no doubt that Iran’s nuclear programme poses a serious threat, especially to Israel. We share the conviction that Iran must never acquire nuclear weapons,” Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Wadephul emphasised the collaborative diplomatic efforts by Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and the United States to find a peaceful resolution to the issue.
“Israel can rely on Germany,” Wadephul affirmed, adding that Israel, like any other nation, has the inherent right to self-defence. “And that is obvious, we support you in this and will continue to do so,” he concluded.
