Germany sends Ukraine new batch of weapons, including artillery and drones
Germany has prepared a new military aid package for Ukraine, which includes a variety of critical equipment aimed at bolstering the Ukrainian Armed Forces' capabilities.
The package includes advanced artillery, armored vehicles, and numerous drones for reconnaissance and surveillance, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukraine media.
Among the key components of the aid are four Panzerhaubitzen 2000 self-propelled howitzers, accompanied by over 40,000 155mm shells, as well as specialized equipment for demining efforts, including three WISENT 1 mine-clearing tanks.
Additionally, the German government is sending a range of vehicles designed to enhance Ukraine's defensive capabilities, including mine-resistant vehicles (MRAPs) and tactical transport machines for use by the Ukrainian military.
The package also includes several types of drones. Ukraine will receive 20 VECTOR reconnaissance drones, along with 12 HORNET XR drones, 100 RQ-35 HEIDRUN drones, and 120 SONGBIRD drones, all designed to provide real-time intelligence on enemy positions. To further bolster Ukraine’s artillery and infantry support, Germany is sending 8,000 rounds of 40mm ammunition and a significant number of sniper rifles, along with their respective ammunition.
In addition to military hardware, the package contains 100,000 rounds for small arms, along with essential materials such as jute and chevrons. This support reflects Germany's ongoing commitment to assisting Ukraine in its defence against Russian aggression.
