Germany temporarily withdraws embassy staff from Iraq Amid Israel-Iran war

Germany has temporarily withdrawn staff from its embassy in Baghdad due to heightened security risks amid the escalating conflict in the Middle East, a spokesperson for the German Foreign Ministry said late on March 9, France 24 reports.

“Employees of the German embassy in Baghdad have temporarily left Iraq due to security threats,” the spokesperson said, adding that the safety of all personnel is being constantly monitored.
