Germany to fund production of over 500 long-range drones for Ukraine
The German government has signed an agreement to finance the production of more than 500 long-range drones for Ukraine.
Representatives of the German government have signed the first agreement to fund long-range weapons of the Antonov-196 (AN-196) typeb to Ukraine, Caliber.Az reports via German media.
The drones, which are expected to be delivered in the coming months, are capable of carrying up to 50 kilograms of explosives and can fly distances of up to 1,200 kilometers.
A spokesperson for the German Defence Ministry confirmed Berlin’s commitment to financing long-range weapons for Ukraine, but declined to specify the exact systems involved, citing operational security concerns.
Earlier, Der Spiegel reported that the German government planned to allocate millions of euros toward the production of Ukrainian strike drones of the An-196 type, also known as "Liutyi."
