Germany to host G7 ministerial on Ukraine on February 18
Japan, as Chairman of the Group of Seven (G7), plans to hold a meeting of the association's foreign ministers in Germany on February 18.
From February 17 to 19, the annual Munich Security Conference will be held in the administrative centre of Bavaria, TASS reports, citing the Yomiuri newspaper.
Japan will be represented at it by its foreign minister and plans to use this opportunity to organise talks between the G7 foreign ministers, the publication notes.
The foreign ministers may discuss measures to support Ukraine and sanctions against Russia.
In addition, Japan expects to coordinate the holding of an online G7 summit dedicated to the anniversary of the beginning of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine.
Japan is chairing the G7 this year and will host its summit in Hiroshima in May.
