Germany, Ukraine to strengthen bilateral cooperation
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a phone conversation with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz to discuss ongoing peace negotiations and international security cooperation.
Zelenskyy informed Chancellor Merz about his recent contacts with the United States and outlined the current status of the peace talks. He highlighted the importance of engaging with partners in a broader diplomatic format to coordinate positions and develop joint strategies, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Ukrainian leader's Telegram channel.
During the call, Zelenskyy announced plans to strengthen bilateral cooperation with Germany next month. He also briefed the chancellor on his upcoming visit to the Middle East and on Ukrainian defence systems offered to countries in the region. Zelenskyy emphasised that Ukraine is ready to pursue similar cooperation with European nations to bolster continental security.
