Germany weighs plan to take in children from Gaza As Part of Aid Efforts
Germany’s Interior Ministry is considering projects that would allow the country to receive children from the Gaza Strip, an official in Berlin has said.
On July 4, speaking at a press briefing, the ministry’s spokesperson stressed that any such initiative would hinge on the security situation, the possibility of leaving Gaza, and other factors, Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
“Specific plans are currently being discussed with the relevant partners,” the spokesperson noted.
For now, the ministry’s main focus remains on expanding medical assistance at local and regional levels.
The official also emphasised that the Interior Ministry has not yet received any formal requests from German cities to take part in such a programme.
The potential move comes as humanitarian concerns in Gaza remain acute amid ongoing instability in the region.
