According to flotilla organisers, Israeli forces have so far intercepted 21 vessels, while 23 others continue their voyage toward Gaza.
The Global Sumud Flotilla — comprising more than 40 civilian boats carrying medicine, food, and about 500 activists, parliamentarians, and lawyers — set sail with the aim of reaching Gaza on October 2. The initiative has attracted international attention as it seeks to challenge Israel’s naval blockade of the territory, imposed since 2007.
