Gold futures break above $4,500 per ounce for first time since June

Gold futures for December delivery on the COMEX exchange rose above $4,500 per troy ounce on Wednesday, reaching the level for the first time since June 5, 2026, according to trading platform data.
The price of gold had climbed 1.39% to $4,502.70 per troy ounce. Later in the day, the December futures contract had pared some of its gains, trading at $4,490.50 per troy ounce, up 1.11%, Russian media reports.
Silver futures also advanced during the session. September-delivery contracts gained 2.26% to reach $66.40 per troy ounce.
