Greece to transfer over 30 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine
Greece may transfer more than 30 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
According to Newsbreak, Greece is preparing to sell 108 fighter jets to be scrapped, of which 32 F-16C/-D Block 30 aircraft are likely to be transferred to Ukraine.
To achieve this goal, Greece will sell 108 fighter jets that will be decommissioned. According to preliminary estimates, the country will receive between €2 billion and €2.5 billion. At the same time, the chances of selling 3rd generation F-4E fighters are "practically zero."
"A completely different case is the 32 F-16C/-D Block 30, the transfer of which to Ukraine is considered almost inevitable. On the contrary, in the case of the 24 Mirage 2000-5 Mk. 2, of which 14 are new (the 15th was destroyed in an accident) and the rest are upgrades of the older Mirage 2000EGM/-BGM, their final destination cannot be determined with the same degree of certainty. Logically, their transfer to Ukraine or sale to India is possible, always, of course, with French approval," the article says.
