Greek FM hints at possible EU accession during 2027 presidency

Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis has said that at least one country could join the European Union during Greece’s presidency of the Council of the EU in the second half of 2027.

The remarks were made at the Delphi Economic Forum, where Gerapetritis suggested that the EU’s enlargement process could result in the first new member state joining the bloc in that period under Athens’ leadership, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.

However, the minister did not specify which candidate country he was referring to in his comments.
