Greek tanker Star Gwyneth damaged in Hormuz Strait incident
11 March 2026 16:45
One of three vessels affected in the Strait of Hormuz, between the coasts of Iran and Oman, was the Greek-owned tanker Star Gwyneth, Kathimerini reports.
The crew members were unharmed, and the vessel has been moved to a different location for anchoring.
Earlier on March 10, it was reported that three civilian ships were struck in the morning: a cargo ship near Oman, a container vessel off Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE, and a bulk carrier northwest of Dubai.
The Strait of Hormuz is strategically important for Middle Eastern oil and gas exports, with roughly 20% of global supplies passing through the waterway.
