Greenpeace stages protest at Trump golf resort in Scotland over energy policy

Greenpeace environmental activists have staged a protest at the Trump Turnberry golf resort in Scotland, calling for greater support for renewable energy.

Three activists placed six model wind turbines on one of the holes at the South Ayrshire course, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.

The installations were later removed so as not to disrupt the game.

The action was aimed at opposing US President Donald Trump’s stance on expanding the oil and gas industry, while supporting the growth of wind energy.

Activists said the protest was a response to Trump’s calls for increased oil and gas production in the North Sea, arguing that most people in Scotland support the expansion of renewable energy sources.
