14 February 2025 17:34
On February 14, a grenade blast during Friday prayers at Jui Zindajan Mosque in Aybak, the capital of northern Samangan Province, has left at least four people wounded.
The explosion occurred around 12:45 p.m. local time as worshippers were gathered for prayers, the provincial police command said in a statement, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
Taliban authorities have attributed the attack to a "personal dispute" between two residents of Samangan and individuals linked to the mosque.
Following the incident, security forces apprehended two suspects as they attempted to flee the scene. A shotgun was recovered from the pair, who remain in custody for further investigation, the statement confirmed.
