Grenade sparks evacuation at Polish–Ukrainian border checkpoint
Authorities at the Polish–Ukrainian border in Dołhobyczów evacuated a checkpoint after a grenade without a fuse was found in the possession of an Estonian citizen entering Poland.
According to the Polish border service, the report was received at approximately 5:00 a.m. local time on February 17, Caliber.Az reports, citing foreign media.
Upon discovering the grenade, 19 individuals were evacuated from the checkpoint building as a precautionary measure. The border crossing remains closed while authorities secure the area and investigate the incident.
Officials have not provided further details regarding the motive or the condition of the grenade, emphasizing that safety measures are being strictly enforced to prevent any risk to personnel or travelers.
