Gunfire on Kyiv street ends with suspect in police custody VIDEO

Police in Kyiv have detained a man who opened fire on a street in the Obolon district of the city, authorities said.

According to law enforcement, a report about a fight involving gunfire was received from an eyewitness. The shooter fired a shot in the direction of an opponent and fled the scene together with accomplices in a Peugeot vehicle.

“The applicant reported that an altercation arose between unknown individuals, during which one of the men fired a shot at an opponent and left the scene with companions in a Peugeot vehicle,” the statement said.

Police launched a special operation to detain the suspect, during which the vehicle was located in the Dniprovskyi district. A pistol was seized from the detainee, and investigations into the circumstances of the incident are ongoing.
