Haaretz: Israeli families demand investigation into killing of captives on Gaza border
The families of the Israelis killed by Israeli tank fire in the Jewish settlement of Be'eri on the border with the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, are demanding a full and transparent investigation into the incident.
According to the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, a letter to this effect was sent by the relatives and loved ones of the victims to the Chief of the AF General Staff, Herzi Halevi.
The families demanded that Halevi conduct a comprehensive and transparent investigation into the army's decision to open fire that day on the house where the Israeli captives were being held.
"Haaretz" wrote on Dec. 19, 2023, that just hours after the attacks began on Oct. 7, an (Israeli) tank fired an artillery shell at Pasi Cohen's house in Be'eri, where Hamas members were hiding with the captives.
The publication explained that it came to this conclusion based on video footage taken from a police helicopter and later published by Kanal 12.
