US general urges faster modernisation of country’s military
US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine has said time to modernise the country’s armed forces is rapidly running out.
Speaking at a conference of the Air & Space Forces Association near Washington, he stated that they can buy almost everything, but not time, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Caine called on the defence industry to move faster and deliver high-quality weapons on time and at lower costs.
According to him, the Pentagon leadership and the US government as a whole must also operate more effectively.
The general outlined that future conflicts would require action without assumptions about secure rear areas or uninterrupted supply lines.
In his words, US adversaries are increasingly cooperating, sharing technology, intelligence and weapons, studying past battles and rapidly adapting to challenge American advantages.
