Hackers charged after creating fake military registration App in Ukraine PHOTO

19 June 2026 18:03

Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) has announced the detention of a group of hackers accused of developing and operating a counterfeit version of the military registration application Reserve+, allegedly enabling thousands of users to evade mobilization requirements.

In a statement published on its Telegram channel, the SBU said: “The SBU and the National Police have detained hackers who developed a copy of Reserve+ to profit from draft evaders.”

According to the agency, access to the fake application was sold for 1,200 hryvnias per month (approximately $26.5), and more than 4,000 people reportedly registered on the platform.

Investigators allege that the application allowed users to independently alter their military registration records or falsely indicate that they had received a deferment from military service. The modified data could then be presented to officials from Territorial Recruitment Centres or law enforcement officers during inspections of military registration documents.

The SBU said the scheme was designed to generate income from individuals seeking to avoid mobilization while creating the appearance of legitimate military registration status.

The developers of the application have been detained, and criminal proceedings have been launched as authorities continue their investigation into the case.
