Media: Hamas claims responsibility for deadly Jerusalem attack
Hamas has claimed responsibility for a deadly shooting in Jerusalem that left six people dead and at least 14 others wounded on September 8.
The attack took place at the Ramot Junction in the north of the city, where two gunmen opened fire with automatic weapons at buses caught in heavy traffic, Caliber.Az reports, citing Mignews.
According to Israeli security services, the assailants then boarded one of the vehicles and shot passengers at close range.
In total, around 20 people were injured. Israeli officials said three victims were in a critical condition, while others sustained light to moderate injuries.
The attackers were killed at the scene. One was shot by an off-duty Israel Defence Forces soldier travelling on the bus, while the other was subdued by armed civilians and a young ultra-Orthodox man who had already been wounded in the assault.
Police said the gunmen came from a Palestinian village near Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
Security forces at the scene are also examining a suspicious object that may be an explosive device.
Their identities have not yet been released.
