Hamas denounces Trump's proposal on Palestinians' displacement “Gaza is not for sale”

Izzat al-Risheq, a member of Hamas's political bureau, has criticised US President Donald Trump’s plan on Gaza, stressing that "Gaza is not a property that can be bought and sold, but rather an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territories."

Responding to the US President reiterating the issue of Palestinians’ relocation from the enclave while on board the presidential plane on February 9, Al-Risheq confirmed that "the Palestinians will spoil all plans aimed at displacing them," Caliber.Az reports, citing Arab media.

He described Trump's statements about buying and owning Gaza as absurd, considering that they "reflect a deep ignorance of Palestine and the region."

It is crucial to recall that shortly after taking office on January 20, Trump floated the idea of ​​the United States taking control of Gaza and engaging in a massive reconstruction effort. He then repeated the same idea several times, speaking about transferring the residents of Gaza to other countries, most notably Egypt and Jordan, despite their repeated opposition.

This sparked immediate criticism from several Arab and Western countries, as well as the United Nations, especially since the displacement of Palestinians is in conflict with international laws and regulations.

Despite international condemnations, on February 9, US President Donald Trump reiterated that he is committed to buying and owning the Gaza Strip. Trump also said he was open to the possibility of allowing some Palestinian refugees to enter the United States but would consider such requests on a case-by-case basis.
