Hamas, Fatah hold talks in Cairo on Gaza ceasefire, reconstruction
Hamas and representatives of other Palestinian factions held talks in Cairo on implementing the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and coordinating plans for the territory’s reconstruction.
Hamas Political Bureau chief Khalil al-Hayya met with a Fatah delegation led by Muhammad Dahlan, along with representatives of other Palestinian groups, according to the information provided, Caliber.Az reports.
The discussions focused on the proposed “road map” for the next phase of the ceasefire, reconstruction efforts in Gaza and closer coordination among Palestinian factions.
The participants agreed to continue efforts toward developing a unified national strategy. Hamas, however, accused Israel of contributing to the collapse of previous agreements.
Fatah, also known as the Palestine Liberation Movement, is a major Palestinian political faction and a leading member of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO).
