Hamas: Israel intensifies technological surveillance via drones, eavesdropping devices
The Hamas security service warned Gaza residents regarding Israel’s ongoing intelligence operations, suggesting that the current period of relative calm is being used by Israeli forces to “infiltrate resistance ranks, gather intelligence, and exploit potential vulnerabilities.”
According to the platform's field reports, the Israeli forces are leveraging a combination of technical and field tactics during this time of truce, taking advantage of perceived security lapses, particularly the excessive use of smartphones and social media among some resistance fighters, Caliber.Az reports via Arab media.
Hamas highlighted that recent observations have shown increased attempts to monitor resistance movements via drones and eavesdropping devices. Additionally, they claimed that there have been efforts to recruit new agents under the guise of humanitarian aid or social outreach.
The platform emphasised that while the truce may appear to offer a moment of respite, it represents a vulnerable phase during which Israeli forces are intensifying their intelligence-gathering efforts, hoping to capitalize on information they were unable to obtain during previous confrontations. Hamas cautioned that a lapse in security measures during this period could turn the calm into a dangerous trap, potentially jeopardising the safety of the fighters.
The statement concluded with a call for heightened vigilance and caution during this sensitive phase.
