Hamas leader proposes two stages of political settlement

Head of the Political Bureau of the Palestinian Hamas group Ismail Haniyeh has proposed two stages of political settlement.

Haniyeh made a proposal to establish an independent state of Palestine under the auspices of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO), Gazeta.ru reports citing Anadolu Agency.

“We called for a political settlement in two stages. The first one would envisage reorganising the Palestine Liberation Organisation to include all Palestinian movements,” he noted.

Haniyeh added that at this stage it would be possible to unify all movements in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank under one leadership.
