Hamas official hails ceasefire as step against US influence in Middle East

A senior Hamas official has praised the recent ceasefire that ended the joint U.S.-Israel military campaign targeting Iran, calling it a “significant step” in challenging American influence in the region.

Bassem Naim, a member of Hamas’ political bureau, said in a statement: “The ceasefire … is undoubtedly a significant step toward diminishing American hegemony in the region and paves the way for the imminent demise of the illegitimate entity,” referring to Israel, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media. 

He added: “The will of the free peoples, ready to pay the price for freedom and independence, has triumphed. Congratulations to the people and leadership of Iran, and our condolences to all the martyrs.”
