Health condition of late Azerbaijani chess grandmaster's parents critical Official sources say
New details have emerged regarding the victims of the explosions this morning in Azerbaijan's Sumgayit and Novkhani.
Six individuals – four men and two women – were injured in the Sumgayit explosion, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB).
Three of them – two men, born in 1977 and 2007, and a girl born in 2010 – were transferred to the Burn Unit at the Narimanov Medical Centre for specialized treatment. The condition of the other three victims (a man born in 1952, another man born in 2008, and a woman born in 1975) is reported as stable.
In Novkhani, a man born in 1949 was also sent for specialized treatment at the Burn Unit in Narimanov. A woman born in 1959 is in intensive care in serious condition with various injuries.
The victims in Novkhani are the parents of the late chess grandmaster Vugar Hashimov – Gasim Hashimov and Aida Hashimova.
On December 3, at 08:10, the Baku-based Republican Center for Emergency and Urgent Medical Assistance received a call regarding an explosion in a private house located in the Novkhani settlement of the Absheron district, Azerbaijan.

In the wake of the explosion, two individuals were rescued from the rubble, as confirmed by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
