08 April 2026 16:49

Severe rains and stormy winds in Pakistan’s Punjab province over the past 24 hours have killed three people and injured 17 others.

Most incidents involved collapsing roofs and sheds. In Bhakkar, two roofs fell, killing one person and injuring four, as per foreign media.

In Taunsa, a hotel shed collapse injured five, while two other cases reported one death and two injuries.

Additional casualties occurred in Khanewal, Muzaffargarh, Sargodha, Toba Tek Singh, and Chiniot, including one death from electrocution. All victims were promptly taken to nearby hospitals.

Pakistan Meteorological Department had warned of heavy rains and thunderstorms in Punjab, northern Balochistan, and southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on April 6–7, with sudden floods expected in mountain streams and local rivers.
