Hezbollah hails Iran’s attack on Israel as support for Lebanon

Hezbollah has said that Iran’s missile response to Israel, carried out in defence of the Lebanese people, carries a message of “moral, political and practical obligations.”

“The Iranian response confirms that in the interest of regional stability, all possible efforts must be made to protect agreements, and the enemy (the United States and Israel) must comply with them first,” the statement by Hezbollah said, Lebanon24 reports.

The movement called on Lebanese authorities to seize the opportunity, adjust their official relations with Iran, and benefit from Iranian support in achieving national objectives.

In a detailed statement, Hezbollah said: “This Iranian support for our legitimate rights and the readiness to bear material and political costs for it once again confirms that Iran supports Lebanon, not the other way around. This stems from its principles, human values, and the depth of historical ties between the Lebanese and Iranian peoples. Iran has always wished well for our country, contributed to supporting its resistance for the liberation of lands, and to rebuilding what was destroyed by Zionist aggression. Its honorable position alongside Lebanon deserves gratitude from the Lebanese authorities, not denial or deliberate insults in service of external dictates.

All voices driven by these external instructions will not affect the credibility of this courageous Iranian position and rare loyalty in an era when interests prevail over principles. False accusations made by some officials against Iran’s honorable role in seeking to stop the Israeli campaign against Lebanon are completely rejected, as they contradict the truth and go against Lebanon’s interests. Unjust attacks on Iran, including a joint statement with the enemy and the American administration against it, go beyond all rules of diplomatic relations, represent an unacceptable and condemnable alignment with the other side, and serve only the Zionist enemy.

We call on the Lebanese authorities to take advantage of the available opportunity and correct their official relations with the Islamic Republic in a way that serves the interests of both states, and to benefit from this Iranian support in achieving our national goals.”
