Hezbollah leader: "Time for unwarranted concessions is over”
Secretary-General of Hezbollah Sheikh Naim Qassem has said that what he described as the period of making “concessions for free” was over, in remarks directed to the people of Lebanon.
Qassem said the movement no longer intended to return to the previous state of affairs, and claimed that Israeli forces had been surprised by the defensive capabilities of Hezbollah fighters, Caliber.Az reports via Iranian media.
He further said that the Israeli military had proven “powerless” on the battlefield against what he called “the heroes of the Resistance” and had been unable to launch a ground offensive as previously stated. He added that Israeli forces had repeatedly adjusted their stated objectives, at times aiming to reach the Litani River and at other times pursuing a more limited advance.
Qassem also said the group’s fighters had surprised the Israeli military with their tactics, flexibility, and defensive capabilities. He stated that Hezbollah would not agree to return to the previous situation and urged Lebanon’s leadership to avoid what he described as unnecessary concessions.
