Hezbollah strikes two Israeli tanks in southern Lebanon
Hezbollah announced on April 11 that its fighters carried out two operations in southern Lebanon, destroying Israeli armoured vehicles, according to the group’s official Telegram channel.
In a statement, Hezbollah said, “Islamic Resistance fighters attacked a mechanised patrol of the occupation forces in the Bint Jbeil area and struck an enemy Merkava tank with guided missiles. A direct hit on the armored vehicle was recorded.”
The group framed the attacks as a response to Israeli violations of the ceasefire and repeated attacks on villages in southern Lebanon.
“The Resistance stresses that it has observed the ceasefire, while the enemy has violated it,” the statement said.
Earlier, Hezbollah claimed to have hit a Merkava tank during an armed incursion near the border area of Al-Edeis on April 11.
Later in the day, the Israeli army reported that barracks in the Western Galilee settlements of Adamit and Yaara—housing troops involved in operations in southern Lebanon—were targeted by multiple-launch rocket systems.
