Three Basij fighters killed in US strike on Lavan Island

Three members of Iran’s paramilitary Basij force were killed in US strikes on Lavan Island, Iranian Mehr news agency reports.

Several other Basij members were also injured in the attack, although the report did not provide an exact figure for the casualties.

The reported strike came after US Central Command announced a series of attacks against targets in Iran. Details of the specific targets and the scope of the operation were not immediately disclosed.

Iranian broadcaster Press TV reported explosions along the country’s southern coast, including on Qeshm Island and in several cities.
